Fake history of a man made lake and hydroelectric damn in Pennsylvania. The angels of nature try it like the mammals do, industrialists get a little too into the landscape, a superintendent is brought to life by an omnipotent bureaucrat, a flooded town seeks revenge, a woman uses her outhouse.
PANDEMIC TV SHOW, 2020
During lockdown I made four episodes of an internet TV show that I posted to Instagram and the Practice Gallery Website. Each one includes one story and one song.
This one is about a trans woman with snakes for hair on a cross country train trip. This episode predates the release of On a Cute One.
Song: “Laughing Stranger” I dont really play this song anymore. Pretty sure I’ve never played it live actually.
This one is about befriending your own doppelgänger. Morgan Everitt plays the other barista and sings the song with me over the computer.
Song: “Let them mourn”. I eventually rewrote this song to be about something else.
This one is about a group of immortal people who meet up in a hot spring every century to trade off caring for an immortal toddler who crawled out of limbo. I think the toddler character is in this telling, I forget and I am definitely NOT rewatching any of these to find out.
SONG: “Tell your mother” I still play this song, I like this one.
This one is about some cosmic nebula dust and a celestial body that pulls planets into her orbit cause she thinks they’re neat. Also a binary star couple thats really annoying.
SONG: “Living Dead” Played this song a bunch at Killjoys Castle. Don’t really play it anymore. It’s one of my songs about early transition that I feel weird about playing because it’s cringey or something?
SALT FLATS ~ MUSIC VIDEO for MAL BLUM, 2019
This was really fun to make. All the props and the bike and I think we filmed it over two days. Mal plays a record thirsty high speed motorcyclist going for some abstract record on the salt flats. Their bandmates play crew members.
